The invention provides the ability to generate and use a database representing all solutions (legal combinations) satisfying all constraints of configuration problems on finite domains and/or intervals. The configuration space with all legal combinations is stored in a compact way in terms of nested arrays, where each legal Cartesian subspace has a unique index. Thus, the complete configuration space (which can be extended with object functions for optimization) is easily addressable by parallel indexing techniques and the database is therefore suitable for run-time applications (e.g. configuration on the Internet), which must be performed in real time.
L'invention permet de générer et d'utiliser une base de données représentant toutes les solutions (combinaisons admises) satisfaisant à toutes les contraintes de configuration concernant des domaines et/ou des intervalles finis. L'espace de configuration avec toutes les combinaisons admises est stocké compact sous forme de matrices emboîtées, où chaque sous-espace cartésien conforme dispose d'un indice unique. Ainsi, l'espace de configuration complet, qui peut être étendu avec des fonctions objet destinées à l'optimisation, est facilement adressable avec des techniques d'indiçage parallèle. Il en résulte que cette base de données convient à des applications développées lors de l'exécution (par exemple la configuration sur Internet), lorsque cela doit se faire en temps réel.
