A device (1) and a method for combustion of fuel, in particular solid fuels such as pellets of wood. The device (1) comprises a combustion chamber (2) with at least one gas inlet (8) and at least one gas outlet (9), said gas inlet being arranged to conduct oxygenous gas, for example air, substantially tangentially into the combustion chamber for the purpose of achieving a whirling motion in said combustion chamber and said gas outlet being arranged substantially centrally, in relation to a centre axis (10) of the combustion chamber, for letting combustion gas out in one end of the combustion chamber in a direction substantially parallel to said centre axis. Furthermore, the device includes a fuel holder (3) arranged in the combustion chamber for exposing the fuel (11) to gas present in the combustion chamber and promote mixing of the oxygen contained in the gas with the pyrolysis gas originating from the fuel.

L'invention concerne un appareil (1) et un procédé permettant la combustion d'un combustible, en particulier des combustibles solides tels que des granulats de bois. Cet appareil (1) comprend une chambre de combustion (2) dotée d'au moins une entrée de gaz (8) et d'au moins une sortie de gaz (6), ladite entrée étant conçue pour amener un gaz contenant de l'oxygène, par exemple de l'air, de manière sensiblement tangente dans la chambre de combustion, afin d'effectuer un mouvement tournoyant, et la sortie de gaz étant placée sensiblement au centre de la chambre de combustion par rapport à un axe central (10), afin de laisser sortir le gaz de combustion par une extrémité de la chambre de combustion, dans un sens sensiblement parallèle audit axe central. Le dispositif comprend également un support de combustible (3) disposé dans la chambre de combustion, afin d'exposer ledit combustible (11) au gaz présent dans la chambre de combustion, et de favoriser le mélange de l'oxygène contenue dans le gaz avec le gaz de pyrolyse provenant du combustible.
