A device and method for creating hydrodynamic cavitation in fluids which includes a flow-through chamber (16) intermediate an inlet opening (12) and an outlet opening (14); the flow-through chamber having an upstream opening portion (18) communicating with the inlet opening and a downstream opening portion (20) communicating with the outlet opening; the cross-sectional area of the downstream opening portion being greater than the cross-sectional area of the upstream opening portion; and a cavitation generator (22) located within the flow-through chamber for generating a hydrodynamic cavitation field downstream from the generator. The walls of the flow-through chamber are removably mounted within the device and are interchangeable and replaceable with replacement walls having various configurations. The baffle elements of the cavitation generator are removably mounted within the device and are interchangeable and replaceable with replacement baffles having various shapes and configurations thereby enabling variable effects on cavitation.
L'invention concerne un appareil et un procédé de création de cavitation hydrodynamique dans des fluides qui comportent une chambre de passage entre une ouverture d'entrée et une ouverture de sortie, la chambre de passage possède une section d'ouverture en amont qui communique avec l'ouverture d'entrée et une section d'ouverture en aval communicant avec l'ouverture de sortie, la zone de section de coupe de la section d'ouverture en aval étant plus grande que la zone de section de coupe de la section d'ouverture en amont et un générateur de cavitation placé à l'intérieur de la chambre de passage permet de produire un champ de cavitation hydrodynamique en aval du générateur. L'invention concerne également un appareil permettant de concevoir une cavitation hydrodynamique dans des fluides, dans lequel les parois de la chambre de passage prennent des formes et des configurations diverses en vue d'affecter la cavitation. L'invention concerne encore un appareil autorisant la conception d'une cavitation hydrodynamique dans des fluides, dans lequel les éléments de cloison sont montés de manière amovible à l'intérieur de l'appareil et peuvent être échangés et remplacés par des cloisons de remplacement possédant des formes et des configurations diverses, permettant ainsi de produire différents types d'effets sur la cavitation.
