A method of and device (110) for immobilising a motor vehicle having a foot actuated brake pedal (148) affixed at the end of a pedal arm (150). A pedal clasping portion (118) of the immobilisation device (110) is hooked around the brake pedal (148) and a rigid strut portion (128) slides from an elongate body portion (116) where it is locked in such extended position to prevent depression of the brake pedal to its actuating position. The pedal clasping portion (118) has the form of a deep channel firmly affixed to the elongate body portion (116) of the device and may have a cutout in one of the flanges (122) through which the pedal arm (150) passes.

Cette invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif (110) permettant d'immobiliser un véhicule motorisé équipé d'une pédale (148) de frein actionnée par le pied fixée à l'extrémité d'un levier (150) de pédale. Un organe de fixation (118) de pédale du dispositif (110) d'immobilisation est accroché autour de la pédale (148) de frein et un organe d'entretoise (128) rigide coulisse entre une partie corps (116) allongée où il est bloqué dans une position déployée permettant de prévenir la dépression de la pédale de frein et sa position d'actionnement.
