The instant invention is a device for producing dispersions and method of producing dispersions. The device for producing dispersions includes a first stator, a second stator, a shell encasing the first stator and the second stator, a rotor being disposed therebetween the first stator and the second stator thereby forming a first chamber and a second chamber, at least one first inlet port into the first chamber, and at least one outlet port out of the second chamber. The device may optionally include at least one additional second inlet port into the second chamber. The method of producing a polyurethane dispersion includes the following steps: (1) providing a device for producing a dispersion including a first stator, a second stator, a shell encasing the first stator and the second stator, a rotor being disposed therebetween the first stator and the second stator thereby forming a first chamber and a second chamber, at least one first inlet port into the first chamber, at least one outlet port out of the second chamber; and optionally one or more additional second inlet ports into the second chamber; (2) introducing a prepolymer phase and an aqueous phase into the first chamber via the first inlet ports; (3) emulsifying the prepolymer phase in the aqueous phase; (4) thereby producing a prepolymer emulsion; (5) introducing a chain extender agent into the emulsion in the second chamber via the second inlet port; (6) chain extending the prepolymer; and (7) thereby producing a polyurethane dispersion.
La présente invention concerne un dispositif de production de dispersions et un procédé de production de dispersions. Le dispositif de production de dispersions comprend un premier stator, un second stator, un boîtier enfermant le premier stator et le second stator, un rotor étant disposé entre le premier stator et le second stator, formant ainsi une première chambre et une seconde chambre, au moins un premier orifice d'entrée dans la première chambre, et au moins un orifice de sortie menant hors de la seconde chambre. Le dispositif peut comprendre en option au moins un second orifice d'entrée supplémentaire dans la seconde chambre. Le procédé de production d'une dispersion de polyuréthane comprend les étapes suivantes consistant à : (1) fournir un dispositif pour produire une dispersion comprenant un premier stator, un second stator, un boîtier enfermant le premier stator et le second stator, un rotor étant disposé entre le premier stator et le second stator, formant ainsi une première chambre et une seconde chambre, au moins un premier orifice d'entrée dans la première chambre, au moins un orifice de sortie menant hors de la seconde chambre ; et en option un ou plusieurs seconds orifices d'entrée supplémentaires dans la seconde chambre ; (2) introduire une phase de prépolymérisation et une phase aqueuse dans la première chambre via les premiers orifices d'entrée ; (3) émulsionner la phase de prépolymérisation dans la phase aqueuse ; (4) produire ainsi une émulsion de prépolymérisation ; (5) introduire un agent d'extension de chaîne dans l'émulsion dans la seconde chambre via le second orifice d'entrée ; (6) étendre la chaîne du prépolymère ; et (7) produire ainsi une dispersion de polyuréthane.
