A device for separating leaves from branches comprises a separation box having an inlet and an outlet, a rotatable cylinder provided externally with a pair of cutting blades mounted into the separation box in close proximity with the inlet and capable of cutting leaves entering into the separation box through the inlet, a motor for rotating the cylinder for cutting the leaves from the branches, and a vacuum connected to the outlet for drawing air from outside through the inlet and into the separation box. The inlet takes the form of an adjustable gap or slot between a pair of spaced cover plates.
