The invention relates to a device (10) for cutting a workpiece (38), mounted onto an elongate rod (36), into a spiral formation. The device includes a frame (12) defining a workspace (14), and locating means (34) for locating the rod longitudinally along the workspace. A chuck (40), rotatable about an axis of rotation, is located in the workspace for holding and rotating the work piece about an axis co-axial with the axis of the rod. A carriage (44) which is transportable longitudinally along the workspace releasably mounts a cutting tool (46) extending transversely to the workspace. The device includes also transport means (48) for transporting the carriage longitudinally along the workspace and displacement means (34) for displacing the locating means, and hence in use the rod, longitudinally along the workspace. The device further includes drive means (52) for driving the transport means, the displacement means and rotatingly driving the chuck.
L'invention concerne un dispositif (10) permettant de couper une pièce (38), montée sur une tige allongée (36), en une formation spiralée. Le dispositif comprend une ossature (12) définissant un espace de travail (14), et un moyen de positionnement (34) permettant de placer la tige dans une position longitudinale par rapport à l'espace de travail. Un mandrin (40), pouvant être mis en rotation autour d'un axe de rotation, est positionné dans l'espace de travail pour maintenir la pièce et la mettre en rotation autour d'un axe coaxial par rapport à l'axe de la tige. Un chariot (44) pouvant être transporté longitudinalement par rapport à l'espace de travail permet de monter, de manière amovible, un outil de coupe (46) s'étendant de manière transversale dans l'espace de travail. Le dispositif comprend également un moyen de transport (48) permettant de transporter le chariot de manière longitudinale par rapport à l'espace et un moyen de déplacement (34) permettant de déplacer ledit moyen de positionnement et par conséquent lors de l'utilisation la tige, de manière longitudinale par rapport à l'espace de travail. Le dispositif comprend également un moyen d'entraînement (52) permettant d'entraîner le moyen de transport, le moyen de positionnement et d'entraîner également le mandrin de manière rotative.
