A device and method for determining the effect of therapy in a tumour tissue of a human or a mammal under interstitial photodynamic or photothermal therapy by analyzing a liquid flow in a tissue of a human or a mammal. A first fibre is interstitially inserted in a first position of said tissue and connected to a light source, and a second fibre is interstitially inserted in a second position of said tissue for receiving light emitted from the first fibre. A detector is arranged for receiving the light from said second fibre for producing an output signal. An analysator receives the output signal from the detector and determines if there is a frequency component in the frequency area below about 1 MHz in the output signal, which is indicative of blood cell movement in the tissue. If the frequency component is below a threshold value, it is determined that there is no blood flow. In photothermal therapy, no blood flow is interpreted as the fact that the blood has coagulated and the therapy may be finalized. In photodynamic tumour therapy, changes in blood flow may be used to evaluate the treatment progression.
L'invention concerne un dispositif et un procédé permettant de déterminer l'effet d'une thérapie dans un tissu tumoral d'un humain ou d'un mammifère soumis à une thérapie interstitielle photodynamique ou photothermique, par analyse d'un flux de liquide dans un tissu d'un humain ou d'un mammifère. Une première fibre est insérée de manière interstitielle sur une première position dudit tissu et connectée à la source de lumière, et une seconde fibre est insérée de manière interstitielle sur une seconde position dudit tissu pour recevoir la lumière émise par la première fibre. Un détecteur est destiné à recevoir la lumière de ladite seconde fibre pour générer un signal de sortie. Un analyseur reçoit le signal de sortie du détecteur et détermine s'il y a un composant de fréquence dans la zone de fréquence inférieur à environ 1 MHz dans le signal de sortie, indiquant le mouvement des cellules sanguines dans le tissu. Si le composant de fréquence est inférieur à une valeur seuil, on en déduit qu'il n'y a pas de circulation de sang. En thérapie photothermique, aucune circulation sanguine n'est interprétée en raison de la coagulation du sang, et la thérapie peut être terminée. En thérapie tumorale photodynamique, les changements dans le flux sanguin peuvent être utilisés pour évaluer la progression du traitement.
