The present invention relates to a process for preparing cellulose esters having a total DS/AGU of 0.1 to 3.0, said process consisting of contacting the following: (i) a cellulose material, (ii) a solubilizing amount of a solvent system comprising a carboxamide diluent or a urea-based diluent, (iii) an acylating reagent, and (iv) a titanium-containing compound.

L'invention porte sur un procédé de préparation d'esters cellulosiques présentant un degré de substitution (DS/AGU) total de 0,1 à 3,0, consistant à mettre en contact: (i) un matériau cellulosique; (ii) une quantité solubilisante d'un système solvant comportant un diluant de carboxamide ou un diluant à base d'urée; (iii) un réactif d'acylation, et (iv) un composé contenant du titane.
