In a process for the direct reduction of particulate iron-oxide-containing material by the fluidized bed method reformed gas is mixed with top gas forming in the direct reduction of the iron-oxide-containing material and is fed to a fluidized-bed reduction zone as a reducing gas. To lower the energy demand and utilizing the potential of the reducing gas, both the top gas and the reformed gas are subjected to CO2 scrubbing and the reducing gas formed by mixing top gas with reformed gas is adjusted to an H2 content ranging between 45 and 75 %, preferably between 50 and 65 %, and to a CO content ranging between 10 and 20 %.

Lors d'un procédé de réduction directe de matière particulaire contenant de l'oxyde de fer à l'aide de la méthode sur lit de fluidisation, du gaz de reformage est mélangé avec le gaz de gueulard se formant lors de la réduction directe de la matière contenant de l'oxyde de fer et sert d'alimentation en gaz réducteur d'une zone de réduction sur lit de fluidisation. Le gaz de gueulard et le gaz de reformage sont tous les deux soumis à un nettoyage au CO2, afin de réduire les besoins en énergie et d'utiliser le potentiel de ces gaz réducteurs. On ajuste ensuite la teneur en H2 du gaz réducteur, formé par le mélange du gaz de gueulard et du gaz de reformage, a une valeur allant de 45 à 75 %, de préférence allant de 50 à 65 %, et celle en CO à une valeur allant de 10 à 20 %.
