The invention concerns a directional method for a server for cells transmitted by a module attached to a local mobile area network as well as a network of this type for implementing said method. The directional method applies to a network which is comprised of a plurality of concentration stages and terminals linked to the low-level concentration stages, said network comprising servers respectively linked to concentration stages. This method is characterized therein that it consists of initially establishing permanent virtual channels in direction of the servers and, when a mobile is connected to two terminals of said network, said two terminals ascertain the closest common server and modify the header of the user cells transmitted by said mobile in such a way that they carry the identifier VPI/VCI of the channel established for said server so as to enable it to be processed there. The present invention also concerns a network provided for implementing said method.

L'invention est constituée par une méthode d'acheminement directionnel pour un serveur de cellules transmises par un module relié à un réseau de communication mobile local, ainsi que par un réseau de ce type utilisant cette méthode. La méthode de l'invention est concrétisée dans un réseau constitué d'une pluralité d'étages de concentration et de terminaux reliés aux étages de concentration biniveau, ce réseau comportant des serveurs liés individuellement aux étages de concentration. Cette méthode est caractérisée par le fait qu'elle consiste à établir initialement des canaux virtuels permanents de transmission vers les serveurs et, quand une station mobile est connectée à deux terminaux de ce réseau, ces deux terminaux localisent le serveur commun le plus rapproché et modifient l'en-tête des cellules transmises par la station mobile de façon à leur incorporer l'identificateur de trajet ou de circuit virtuel du canal établi pour le serveur en cause afin qu'il soit traité à cet endroit. Un réseau utilisant la méthode de l'invention est également décrit.
