A distributed network of independently operable servers is described. Each server is adapted to communicate over the network with one or more other servers, each server having a datastore with a plurality of datafields adapted to store information about one or more users. By enabling an authentication of a user based on a user supplied biometric identifier, the network is adapted to enable the transfer of information relating to the user between different servers.

L'invention concerne un réseau distribué de serveurs à fonctionnement indépendant. Chaque serveur est adapté pour communiquer dans le réseau avec un ou plusieurs autres serveurs. Chaque serveur comprend une mémoire de données présentant plusieurs champs et conçu pour stocker des informations concernant un ou plusieurs utilisateurs. Grâce à cette possibilité d'authentification d'un utilisateur basée sur un identificateur biométrique fourni par l'utilisateur, le réseau est adapté pour permettre le transfert d'informations se rapportant à l'utilisateur entre différents serveurs.
