A method for delivery of pharmaceutically effective amounts of drugs and therapeutic ions is disclosed. More particularly, a method of formulating a dosage form that will move drugs, pro-drugs or therapeutic ions in either cationic or anionic form between voltaic cell compartments of the human body, such as from the mouth into the naso- pharyngeal area or into the lung is set forth. The method utilizes naturally occurring concentration gradients in the form of concentration cells, which are constituents of the anatomy. A dosage formulation designed in consideration of naturally occurring pH gradients, i.e., Teorell- Meyer gradients, and a method of treatment by delivering a pharmaceutically effective amount of ions or drugs using the formulation designed in consideration of Teorell-Meyer gradients, is also described.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant d'administrer des quantités pharmaceutiquement efficaces de médicaments et d'ions thérapeutiques. Plus particulièrement, l'invention concerne un procédé relatif à une préparation de forme posologique qui permet de déplacer des médicaments, des promédicaments ou des ions thérapeutiques, sous forme cationique ou anionique, entre des compartiments de pile voltaïque dans le corps humain, par exemple depuis la bouche vers la zone naso-pharyngienne ou vers les poumons. Le procédé consiste à utiliser les occurrences naturelles de gradient de concentration sous la forme de piles de concentration, qui sont des éléments constitutifs de l'anatomie. L'invention concerne en outre une préparation de forme posologique conçue en fonction des occurrences naturelles de gradient de pH (à savoir, gradients de Teorell-Meyer). L'invention concerne enfin un procédé de traitement qui permet d'administrer une quantité pharmaceutiquement efficace d'ions ou de médicaments, en utilisant la préparation de forme posologique conçue eu égard aux gradients considérés (à savoir, gradients de Teorell-Meyer).
