The present invention relates generally to the field of drug identification and evaluation and therapeutic optimiza-tion. More particularly, the present invention provides a protocol for identifying compounds useful in the treatment of TNF.alpha. asso-ciated diabetes or a condition associated with diabetes based on a signature of genomic or proteomic expression.
