A fabric softening composition including from about 1 % to about 90 % by weight of a fabric softening active, optionally from about 1 % to about 25 % by weight of a principal solvent having a ClogP of less than about 3, from about 0.05 % to about 15 % by weight of a malodor controlling agent, and the balance being adjunct ingredients. The malodor controlling agent is selected from the group consisting of a quaternary ammonium antimicrobial agent, cyclodextrin or mixtures of these ingredients. The present invention also relates to a method for reducing malodor by applying such a composition to a fabric article, and drying the fabric article as well as the use of such a composition on fabric articles to reduce malodor impression. An article for reducing and inhibiting the expression of malodor impression is also provided.
L'invention concerne une composition assouplissante comprenant entre environ 1 et 90 % en poids d'une substance active assouplissante; éventuellement entre environ 1 et 25 % en poids d'un solvant principal ayant un ClogP inférieur à environ 3; entre environ 0,05 et 15 % en poids d'un agent de neutralisation des mauvaises odeurs; l'équilibre étant apporté par des ingrédients adjoints. L'agent de neutralisation des mauvaises odeurs est sélectionné dans le groupe constitué par un agent antimicrobien d'ammonium quaternaire, la cyclodextrine ou des mélanges de ces ingrédients. L'invention concerne également un procédé d'atténuation des mauvaises odeurs consistant à utiliser cette composition avec un article textile puis à sécher ledit article textile, ainsi que l'utilisation de cette composition avec des articles textiles pour diminuer la sensation de mauvaise odeur. Elle concerne en outre un article destiné à atténuer ou éliminer l'expression d'une sensation de mauvaise odeur.
