A process for laser cutting a workpiece, comprising the steps of providing a solid-state laser resonator, such as a fiber laser; providing a workpiece to be cut having a thickness of at least 1 mm; generating a laser beam of at least 0.3 kW using the laser resonator; focusing the laser beam in more than one focus points, at least one of said focus points being located within the thickness of the workpiece to be cut; and cutting said workpiece with said focused laser beam at a cutting speed of at least 20 m/min.

L'invention concerne un processus de découpe au laser dune pièce duvre, comportant les étapes consistant à : mettre en place un résonateur laser à létat solide, tel quun laser à fibre ; mettre en place une pièce duvre à découper dune épaisseur dau moins 1 mm ; générer un faisceau laser dau moins 0,3 kW à laide du résonateur laser ; concentrer le faisceau laser en plusieurs points focaux, au moins un desdits points focaux étant situé dans lépaisseur de la pièce duvre à découper ; et découper ladite pièce duvre à laide dudit faisceau laser concentré à une vitesse de découpe dau moins 20 m/mn.
