The present invention relates to a device for passively aligning at least one substrate-carried optical fibre with at least one optical device. The substrate is patterned with a buried etching stop layer. The substrate is then etched to provide a pattern of U-grooves whose depths correspond to the thicknes of material that overlies the etching stop layer and whose positions on the substrate are aligned relative to the optical device. The optic fibre is disposed and fixed in the U-groove. The invention also relates to a device produced by means of said method.

La présente invention concerne un dispositif d'alignement passif d'au moins une fibre optique portée par un substrat avec au moins un dispositif optique. Le substrat est recouvert d'une couche enterrée d'arrêt d'attaque chimique et gravé selon des rainures en U dont la profondeur correspond à l'épaisseur de la matière recouvrant la couche enterrée d'arrêt d'attaque chimique et dont la position sur le substrat est alignée par rapport au dispositif optique. La fibre optique est disposée et fixée dans la rainure en U. L'invention concerne également un dispositif mis au point selon ce procédé.
