A flame retardant resin composition comprising 100 parts by weight of the following component (A) or (B) and 0.01 to 30 parts by weight of red phosphorus (C) shows excellent flame retardancy even if the molding obtained from it is thin, and is excellent in mechanical properties, wet heat resistance and electric properties, being suitable for mechanical parts, electric and electronic parts, automobile parts, and housings and other parts of office automation apparatuses and household electric appliances. (A) (a1) 67 to 99.99 wt% (based on the total weight of (a1) and (a2)) of a thermoplastic resin other than polyethylene terephthalate and ethylene terephthalate copolymers and (a2) 33 to 0.01 wt% (based on the total weight of (a1) and (a2)) of polyethylene terephthalate and/or an ethylene terephthalate copolymer (B) a thermoplastic resin consisting of the following structural components (I), (II), (III) and (IV): Image (I) Image (II) Image (III) Image (IV) (where R1, R2 and R3 stand for, respectively independently, a divalent aromatic residue.)
Composition de résine ignifuge, renfermant 100 parties en poids des constituants (A) ou (B) suivants et 0,01 à 30 parties en poids de phosphore rouge (C); elle possède d'excellentes propriétés d'ininflammabilité même lorsque la pièce moulée avec cette résine est très mince; de plus, elle a d'excellentes propriétés mécaniques, électriques et une grande résistance à la chaleur humide, ce qui la rend tout à fait indiquée pour les pièces mécaniques, électriques et électroniques, les pièces d'auto, d'habitations, et d'autres composantes d'appareils d'automatisation pour bureaux et de pièces d'appareils électriques ménagers. (A) (a1) 67 à 99,99 % en poids (basé sur le poids total de (a1) et (a2)) d'une résine thermoplastique autre que poly(téréphtalate d'éthylène) et les copolymères de téréphtalate d'éthylène, et (a2) 33 à 0,01 % en poids (basé sur le poids total de (a1) et (a2)) de poly(téréphtalate d'éthylène) et (ou) d'un copolymère de téréphtalate d'éthylène; (B) résine thermoplastique constituée des parties structurelles (I), (II), (III) et (IV): Image (I) Image (II) Image (III) Image (IV) (où R1, R2 et R3 représentent chacun indépendamment l'un de l'autre un résidu aromatique divalent).
