A new type of secondary locking system for article carriers consisting of at least one secondary male lock (70A-C) with two shoulders that is attached by a neck to the edge of a outer flap (12) on the carrier for use with a primary locking system. An inner flap (26) has a secondary female opening (74A-C) for each secondary male lock. The secondary female opening is formed by a secondary cut line (76A-C) and fold line (84A-C) with the center of the fold line projecting towards the edge of the flap while of the center of the secondary cut line projects away from the edge of the flap to guide the secondary male lock into a flat position against the inside of the inner flap. The shoulders on the secondary male lock are engaged against locking ledges along the extensions of the secondary cut line. A pair of slits (86A-F) may be formed at the end of the fold lines that project inwardly to allow the secondary male lock to slide into a flat position. This locking system is especially useful in wrapping containers that have a flat bottom that would interfere with conventional locking systems.

Le rabat intérieur (26) comporte un passage de patte secondaire (74A-C) pour chaque patte de montage secondaire. Le passage de patte secondaire est constitué d'une ligne de découpe secondaire (76A-C) et d'une ligne de pliage (84A-C) dont le centre dépasse vers le bord du rabat, le centre de la ligne de découpe secondaire dépassant du bord du rabat pour aider la patte secondaire à venir s'appliquer contre l'intérieur du rabat intérieur. Les épaulements de la patte secondaire sont retenus par des épaulements de retenue le long des prolongements de la ligne de découpe secondaire. Une paire de fentes (86) peut être ménagée à l'extrémité des lignes de pliage qui débordent vers l'intérieur pour permettre à la patte secondaire de revenir à plat après coulissement. Ce système de pattes de montage convient particulièrement pour les enveloppes de boîtes à fond plat incompatibles avec les systèmes de pattes conventionnelles.
