The present invention provides an infusion pump (10) for providing a flow of a liquid through a tube (28). The infusion pump (10) includes at least two occluders (152), (162) having an open position and a closed position for releasably pinching-off the tube (28). A metering chamber is disposed between the two occluders (152), (162). A first plunger (72) and a second plunger (73) are provided, each plunger (72), (73) having an open position and a closed position for releasably compressing the metering chamber. In the method of the present invention, an occluder (152) releasably pinches-off the tube near the source of the liquid at a first location. The second occluder (162) releasably pinches-off the tube at a second location that is downstream from the source of the liquid (23) and the first location. The tube (28) is released at the first location and a plunger (72) compresses the tube (28) between the first location and the second location, thereby generating a flow of the liquid through the tube (28) in a direction towards the source of liquid (23).

L'invention concerne une pompe à perfusion (10) qui envoie un flux de liquide dans un tube (28). Ladite pompe à perfusion (10) comporte au moins deux éléments d'occlusion (152, 162) pouvant se mettre en position ouverte et en position fermée pour pincer le tube (28) de manière réversible. Une chambre de dosage est placée entre les deux éléments d'occlusion (152, 162). Un premier (72) et un deuxième plongeur (73) sont prévus, chacun se mettant dans une position ouverte et fermée pour comprimer de manière réversible la chambre de dosage. Dans le procédé de l'invention, un élément d'occlusion (152) pince le tube de manière réversible, à proximité de la source de liquide, à un premier endroit. Le deuxième élément d'occlusion (162) pince de manière réversible, à un deuxième endroit situé en aval de la source de liquide (23) et du premier endroit. Le tube (28) est dégagé au niveau du premier endroit et un plongeur (72) comprime le tube (28) entre le premier endroit et le deuxième endroit, ce qui entraîne la génération d'un flux de liquide dans le tube, en direction de la source de liquide (23).
