A food preparation and distribution tray adapted to receive and support cups, such as paper "patty" cups, used for preparing food products such as muffins. The tray has a plurality of openings (13) for each individual cup, with each cup supported at two or more places by upper wall (3) and the lower wall. The support means may suspend the cups above a base of the tray, or alternatively, the tray may be formed so that the cups rest on the tray~s lower wall and are supported by only upper wall (3). The muffins may be baked in the cups supported by the tray. The tray may be formed from a carton board blank that has been cut, folded and glued to form a sleeve that includes folded end walls and internal supports.
