A frame (120) and method for forming a frame (120) to mount a slew bearing (134) to an undercarriage (102) of a work machine (100) that eliminates a machining process. The frame (120) is formed of a single metallic plate. The metallic plate includes a vertical support portion (122) having a first support leg (124) and a second support leg (126). The metallic plate also includes a substantially planar top surface portion (128) that couples the first support leg (124) to the second support leg (126). A plurality of spaced apart slew bearing receiving apertures (130) are formed in the substantially planar top surface portion (128).
