A game and a method of playing a game are provided that teach the concepts necessary for understanding and mastering the fundamentals of elementary music theory and/or harmony, including building of intervals, triads, seventh and ninth chords and their inversions, and practicing the circle of fifths. In one embodiment, the game comprises a game board that has eight piano keyboards, divided into two sets of four keyboards by a black dividing line, with one set facing in one direction and the second set turned 180° so that it is facing away from the other set. The different keyboards are associated with different keys, in accordance with the circle of fifths. Furthermore, different musical clefs can be used. The game also comprises a set of note- chips to be used to build intervals, triads, seventh and ninth chords and their inversions on the keyboards. The chords that are built are rewarded point cards if built correctly and each chord is recorded on individual cards using note symbols on a staff. The number of moves allowed by a player on his or her turn is determined by a random number generator cube. The object of the game is to successfully move all the note-chips along the eight keyboards to the end of the game field and to collect as many points by building chords. A maximum number of four can play the game simultaneously. The difficulty level of the game can also be changed by the players.
