A gas bubble generator suitable for being positioned adjacent to a stackpipe. The stackpipe comprises a tubular passage through which gas bubbles can travel from the gas bubble generator to an upper discharge opening. The gas bubble generator comprises a first gas accumulation chamber, a second gas accumulation chamber and a stand pipe through which accumulated gas from the first gas accumulation chamber and the second gas accumulation chamber travel to enter the stackpipe. At least a portion of the stand pipe extends within the tubular passage of the stack pipe.
