The present invention relates to a novel human gene that is differentially expressed in human carcinoma. More specifically, the present invention relates to a polynucleotide encoding a novel human polypeptide named C35 that is overexpressed in human breast and bladder carcinoma. This invention also relates to C35 polypeptides, as well as vectors, host cells, antibodies directed to C35 polypeptides, and the recombinant methods for producing the same. The present invention further relates to diagnostic methods for detecting carcinomas, including human breast carcinomas. The present invention further relates to the formulation and use of the C35 gene and polypeptides in immunogenic compositions or vaccines, to induce antibody or cell-mediated immunity against target cells, such as tumor cells, that express the C35 gene. The invention further relates to screening methods for identifying agonists and antagonists of C35 activity.
La présente invention concerne un nouveau gène humain exprimé de manière différentielle dans un carcinome humain. Plus spécifiquement, la présente invention concerne un polynucléotide codant un nouveau polypeptide humain appelé C35 lequel est surexprimé dans le cancer du sein et de la vessie humain. Cette invention concerne également des polypeptides C35 ainsi que des vecteurs, les cellules hôtes, les anticorps dirigés contre les polypeptides C35 ainsi que les méthodes de recombinaison destinées à leur production. La présente invention concerne également des méthodes diagnostiques de détection de cancers, notamment du cancer du sein humain. La présente invention concerne aussi la formulation et l'utilisation du gène et des polypeptides C35 dans des compositions ou des vaccins immunogéniques, afin d'induire une immunité à médiation anticorpale ou cellulaire contre des cellules cibles, telles que des cellules tumorales, exprimant le gène C35. En outre, l'invention a trait à des méthodes de criblage destinées à identifier des agonistes et des antagonistes de l'activité de C35.
