The presently clamied subject matter provides a method for detecting a predisposition to developing established rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in a subject by obtaining a biological sample from the subject, determining expression levels of at least two genes in the biological sample, and comparing the expression level of each gene with a standard, wherein the comparing detects a predisposition to developing established RA in the subject. Also provided are compositions and kits for carrying out the methods of the presently claimed subject matter.

L'invention concerne une méthode qui permet de détecter une prédisposition au développement d'une polyarthrite rhumatoïde (RA) déclarée chez un sujet. La méthode consiste à: effectuer un prélèvement biologique chez le sujet; déterminer des niveaux d'expression d'au moins deux gènes dans le prélèvement biologique; et comparer le niveau d'expression de chaque gène à un niveau standard, ladite comparaison permettant de détecter une prédisposition au développement d'une polyarthrite rhumatoïde déclarée chez le sujet. L'invention concerne en outre des compositions et des trousses servant à mettre en oeuvre les méthodes de l'invention.
