A girder is described for a vehicle chassis made of at least two sheet metal profiles (4, 5) composed along their longitudinal edges into a circumferentially enclosed hollow profile (1), which hollow profile comprises at least two longitudinal sections (2, 3) which are both materially joined by way of a joining seam (10). In order to provide advantageous constructional conditions it is proposed that one of the two longitudinal sections (2, 3) consists of an iron material and the other longitudinal section (2) of the hollow profile (1) consists of an aluminum material, and that the joining seam (10) forming a welded/soldered connection between the butt-jointed longitudinal sections (2, 3) of the hollow profile (1) comprises an additional material (12) on the basis of aluminum as solder which is applied onto a coating of the iron material in a width (b) corresponding to at least three times the thickness (d) of said iron material

L'invention concerne un support pour carrosserie de véhicule, comprenant au moins deux profilés en tôle (4, 5) assemblés le long de leurs bords longitudinaux, de manière à former un profilé creux (1) fermé sur sa périphérie, présentant au moins deux sections longitudinales (2, 3) reliées entre elles, de façon compacte, par un joint d'assemblage (10). En vue d'obtenir des conditions avantageuses de construction, l'invention est caractérisée en ce que l'une des deux sections longitudinales (2, 3) est formée en un matériau ferreux, et l'autre section longitudinale (2) du profil creux (1) est formé en un matériau d'aluminium, et en ce que le joint d'assemblage (10) formant une jonction soudure-brasure, entre les sections longitudinales mises bout à bout (2, 3) du profil creux (1) présente un matériau d'addition (12) à base d'aluminium, en tant que brasure, qui est appliquée sur un revêtement du matériau ferreux en une épaisseur (d) au moins triple de la largeur (b) correspondant audit matériau ferreux.
