The invention concerns a material handling gate post comprising a guide rail (1) formed by single-piece extrusion, or two parts interlocking on each other. The gate post comprises a planar surface (14F), designed to be placed against a wall, for suitably positioning the door and the rail, so as to allow room, on both sides of the door, for receiving the shutter in case it slips out of the guide rail.
