A grinding machine (1) for grinding rails (2) of a track (3) is equipped with a copying frame (5) designed to roll on a rail by means of tracing rollers (7) and comprising a grinding member (9) adjustable relative to the rail. The copying frame (5) is supported for pivoting about a pivot axis (6), extending in the longitudinal direction of the rails, on a machine frame (4) having guide rollers (13) designed to roll on the rails (2). A drive motor (19) mounted on the machine frame (4) is connected to the grinding member (9) by means of a transmission (20) for transmitting power. The drive motor (19) is vertically adjustably mounted on a vertical guide (14) connected to the machine frame (4).
