The invention relates to a hinge joint for eyeglasses that comprises a joint body (5) which serves as a hinge axis, forms a coaxial peripheral groove (7) for receiving an eyelet (9) of a sidepiece (8), and which is held in a rotationally fixed manner between two limbs (4) of a sidepiece end (2). Said limbs are interconnected at least at one end and extend along both sides of the peripheral groove (7). In order to obtain advantageous structural conditions, the invention provides that the joint body (5) consists of two preferably discoid parts (6) whose abutting surfaces (s) extend in a manner that is transversal to the hinge axis in the area of the peripheral groove (7).
