A method of forming a weft knitted fabric upholstery cover having a wale-wise extending flap on its reverse side in which method the excess fabric is knitted coursewise into the cover and is gathered into a flap on the reverse side of the fabric and sewn along its length. The coursewise length of the cover is sufficient so that after gathering to form the flap, the cover is substantially an exact fit over the core.
Méthode de fabrication d'un tricot trame d'ameublement comportant une patte se prolongeant dans le sens de la colonne à l'endos du tricot. Dans la méthode, le tricot en excès est tricoté dans le sens de la rangée de mailles, est froncé en forme de patte sur l'endos de ce dernier et est cousu sur toute sa longueur. La longueur dans le sens de la rangée de mailles du tricot est assez longue pour que, une fois le tricot froncé pour former la patte, il soit possible d'obtenir un ajustement essentiellement exact pour recouvrir la partie centrale.
