A lighting device (10) for use within a light box or light panel and comprising a housing with generally parallel upper and lower walls (11, 12) and diverging side walls (13, 14) with one or more LEDs (18) disposed within the housing on a back wall (15) thus to project light outwardly from the housing. Several such devices may be disposed within a light box or light panel to project light across the latter which light is then diffused before exiting from a front display panel or the like. The diffused light conceals the lighting devices within the light box or light panel. Such devices are intended to replace conventional fluorescent or neon lighting tubes or tungsten lights to produce substantially uniform light distribution by diffusion within the light box or light panel and incorporating low voltage and low power consuming light sources.
L'invention concerne un dispositif d'éclairage (10) destiné à être utilisé à l'intérieur d'une boîte à lumière ou d'un panneau lumineux et comprenant un boîtier comportant des parois supérieure et inférieure (11, 12) généralement parallèles, et des parois latérales (13, 14) divergentes, ledit boîtier contenant une ou plusieurs LED (18) disposées sur une paroi de fond (15) de manière à projeter de la lumière vers l'extérieur. Plusieurs dispositifs d'éclairage de ce type peuvent être disposés à l'intérieur d'une boîte à lumière ou d'un panneau lumineux pour projeter de la lumière à travers celle ou celui-ci, la lumière projetée étant ensuite diffusée avant de sortir, par exemple, par un panneau d'affichage avant. La lumière diffusée dissimule les dispositifs d'éclairage situés à l'intérieur de la boîte à lumière ou du panneau lumineux. Ces dispositifs ont pour but de remplacer les tubes lumineux fluorescents ou au néon traditionnels ou les lampes tungstène afin d'obtenir une distribution de lumière sensiblement uniforme par diffusion à l'intérieur de la boîte à lumière ou du panneau lumineux et utilisation de sources lumineuses à basse tension et à faible consommation.
