A lighting device (10) comprises a generally tubular body (12) having a dry cell cavity (14) adapted to contain one or more dry cells (16) for powering the light, the body having a rearward end (18) and a forward end (20). A cylindrical translucent lens (38) is fixedly mounted to the forward end of the body, and a lamp (32) is mounted to the body at or adjacent to the forward end thereof. The lamp is adapted to be electrically connected to dry cells contained within the body. A generally parabolic or cone shaped reflector (42) is slidably mounted to the cylindrical lens and located within the interior of the cylindrical lens. The reflector has an opening in the centre thereof shaped to receive at least part of the lamp therethrough. The reflector is slidable in an axial direction (37) between an extended position in which the reflector is spaced away from the lamp and light emitting from the lamp shines through the cylindrical lens, and a retracted position in which the lamp extends at least part way through the opening in the reflector, and light emitting from the lamp is reflected in a forward direction by the reflector. Preferably the reflector is mounted to a sleeve (44) which is slidably mounted to the cylindrical lens. Alternatively, the cylindrical lens may be slidable on the lamp body, and the reflector fixedly mounted to the lens. The lens may have a rear end of lesser diameter than the forward end.
Cette invention concerne un dispositif d'éclairage (10) dont le corps globalement tubulaire (12) comprend une cavité (14) pour piles sèches dans laquelle viennent se loger une ou plusieurs piles sèches (16) assurant l'alimentation électrique. Le corps possède une extrémité arrière (18) et une extrémité avant (20). Un objectif cylindrique et translucide (38) est monté de manière fixe sur l'extrémité avant du corps, tandis qu'une ampoule (32) est montée sur le corps au niveau ou à proximité de ladite extrémité avant. L'ampoule vient se connecter électriquement aux piles sèches contenues dans le corps. Un réflecteur (42) globalement parabolique ou conique est monté coulissant par rapport à l'objectif cylindrique et se situe à l'intérieur de ce dernier. Le réflecteur possède une ouverture qui est pratiquée en son centre et dont la forme lui permet de recevoir une partie au moins de l'ampoule. Le réflecteur peut coulisser dans une direction axiale (37) et passer d'une position déployée, où il est espacé par rapport à l'ampoule alors que la lumière émise par cette dernière traverse l'objectif cylindrique, en une position rétractée où l'ampoule dépasse en partie au moins à travers l'ouverture du réflecteur alors que la lumière émise est réfléchie vers l'avant par ledit réflecteur. Le réflecteur est de préférence monté sur une bague (44) qui est elle-même montée coulissante par rapport à l'objectif cylindrique. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, l'objectif cylindrique peut coulisser le long du corps de l'ampoule, tandis que le réflecteur est monté de manière fixe sur l'objectif. L'extrémité arrière de l'objectif peut avoir un diamètre inférieur à celui de l'extrémité avant.
