A liposome composition having improved protection from freeze/thaw damage is described. The liposome composition contains an osmotic gradient across the liposome lipid bilayer, wherein the osmolarity of the external medium is higher than the osmolarity of the liposome inner medium. Typically, the external medium includes a salt and a cryoprotectant to achieve the increase observed in osmolarity.

La présente invention concerne une composition de liposome présentant une protection améliorée contre les dommages dus à la congélation/décongélation. Cette composition met en oeuvre un gradient osmotique à travers la bicouche lipidique de liposome, l'osmolarité du milieu externe au liposome étant plus élevée que celle du milieu interne du liposome.
