A weedkiller applicator (1) comprises an elongated tube (2) forming a liquid inlet at one end having an end cap (3). A block of sponge/foam (12) is provided at the other end of the tube (2) for applying weedkiller by contact with a leaf. Weedkiller is delivered to the foam block (12) through an intermediate chamber (6). The weedkiller is delivered into the chamber (6) by a valve assembly comprising a liquid valve plunger (8) and a non-return air valve (20) having a diaphragm (24). The air inlet to the tube (2) is located above the liquid discharge opening from the tube (2) to provide a uniform rate of flow of liquid to the foam block (12) irrespective of the head of liquid in the tube (2).
Cet applicateur de désherbant (1) comprend un tube de forme allongée (2) présentant un orifice d'entrée de liquide au niveau d'une extrémité pourvue d'un bouchon (3). On a placé au niveau de l'autre extrémité du tube (2) un bloc d'éponge/mousse (12) servant à appliquer le désherbant par mise en contact du bloc avec une feuille. Le désherbant est fourni au bloc de mousse (12) via une chambre intermédiaire (6), laquelle est alimentée en désherbant au moyen d'un ensemble soupape comprenant un piston de soupape (8) pour liquides ainsi qu'un purgeur antiretour (20) doté d'un diaphragme (24). L'orifice d'entrée d'air du tube (2) est situé au-dessus de l'ouverture servant à l'évacuation du liquide à partir du tube (2), afin de permettre un écoulement à débit uniforme du liquide vers le bloc de mousse (12) quel que soit le niveau de liquide dans le tube (2).
