A catalyst for the selective oxidation of hydrogen comprises an inert core such as cordierite and an outer layer comprising a lithium aluminate support. The support has dispersed thereon a platinum group metal and a promoter metal, e.g. platinum and tin respectively. This catalyst is particularly effective in the selective oxidation of hydrogen in a dehydrogenation process.

L'invention concerne un catalyseur pour l'oxydation sélective de l'hydrogène, qui comprend un noyau inerte du type cordiérite et une couche externe renfermant un support à l'aluminate de lithium. Le support est revêtu d'une dispersion de métal du groupe platine et de métal promoteur, par exemple respectivement platine et étain. Ce catalyseur est particulièrement efficace dans l'oxydation sélective de l'hydrogène en processus de déshydrogénation.
