A current sense circuit (36) for sensing a current in a subscriber loop comprising a transformer having a first and second winding (L1, L2) coupled for sensing a differential current in a loop, a sense winding (L3) for producing a sense current in response to a magnetic flux induced in the transformer due to the differential current, an amplifier circuit for receiving the sense current and wherein the sense current is indicative of a signal on the loop, and the amplifier being configured such that a transformer introduces a low insertion loss at a frequency of operation of the loop.

Cette invention concerne un circuit de détection de courant (36) pour boucle d'abonné comprenant les éléments suivants: transformateur avec premier et second bobinage (L1, L2) couplés pour détecter un courant différentiel dans un boucle; bobinage de détection (L3) produisant un courant de détection en réponse à un flux magnétique induit dans le transformateur par suite du courant différentiel; circuit d'amplification recevant le courant de détection et dans lequel ledit courant de détection renseigne sur un signal dans la boucle; et amplificateur conçu de telle sorte qu'un transformateur introduise une faible perte d'insertion sous une fréquence de fonctionnement de la boucle.
