The present invention is directed to a lubricating oil composition comprising a major amount of a base oil of lubricating viscosity and a minor amount of each of the following: a) from about 3.0 to about 7.0 weight percent of an ethylene carbonated-treated ashless dispersant; b) from about 2.0 to about 5.0 weight percent of a borated-treated ashless dispersant; wherein the weight ratio of a) to b) is about 0.3 to about 0.5; c) from about 1.0 to about 3.0 weight percent of a high overbased metal-containing detergent; d) from about 0.1 to about 2.0 weight percent of a phosphorus- containing compound; wherein the weight percent of total phosphorus in the lubricating oil composition is no more than 0.08 weight percent based on the total weight of the lubricating oil composition.
