The present invention provides a low phosphorus lubricating oil composition containing a mixture of zinc dithiophosphates in a certain ratio surprisingly yields improved lead corrosion. The synergistic combination of mixed zinc dithiophosphates containing a zinc primary dialkyl dithiophosphate, zinc secondary dialkyl dithiophosphate and zinc diaryl dithiophosphate in a respective ratio, based on the phosphorus content, of the zinc primary dialkyl dithiphosphate to zinc secondary dialkyl dithiophosphate from about 2:1 to about 1:2 and the ratio of the mixture of zinc primary dialkyl dithiophosphate and zinc secondary dialkyl dithiophosphate to zinc diaryl dithiophosphate from about 6:1 to about 1:1. When used in a lubricating oil composition having a total phosphorus content less than about 0.06 wt %, based on the total weight of the lubricating oil composition to lubricate internal combustion engines. The mixture of zinc dithiophosphates greatly reduces lead corrosion.
La présente invention concerne une composition d'huile lubrifiante de faible teneur en phosphore contenant un mélange de dithiophosphates de zinc en certaines proportions, laquelle améliore étonnamment la corrosion du plomb. L'association synergétique de dithiophosphates de zinc mélangés contenant un (dialkyl primaire)dithiophosphate de zinc, un (dialkyl secondaire)dithiophosphate de zinc et un diaryldithiophosphate de zinc en proportions respectives, sur la base de la teneur en phosphore, suivantes : une proportion du (dialkyl primaire)dithiophosphate de zinc par rapport au (dialkyl secondaire)dithiophosphate de zinc allant d'environ 2:1 à environ 1:2 et une proportion du mélange de (dialkyl primaire)dithiophosphate de zinc et de (dialkyl secondaire)dithiophosphate de zinc par rapport au diaryldithiophosphate de zinc allant d'environ 6:1 à environ 1:1. Lorsqu'on l'utilise dans une composition d'huile lubrifiante ayant une teneur en phosphore totale inférieure à environ 0,06 % en poids, sur la base du poids total de la composition d'huile lubrifiante, pour lubrifier des moteurs à combustion interne, le mélange de dithiophosphates de zinc diminue fortement la corrosion du plomb.
