A low surface impact, skid steered, all terrain vehicle is disclosed which has a rectangular frame from the opposite sides of which sets of tandem mounted, independently movable control arms are suspended. An hydraulic motor driven wheel axle is mounted on the lower end of each control arm with at least one pneumatic wheel mounted upon each axle. Compressible springs are located between the frame and each control arm so as to bias the control arms and wheels supported therefrom downwardly to a position in which friction plates mounted upon the control arms contact and limit movement of each set of control arms toward one another. Separate hydraulic control circuits having separate drive pumps drive the hydraulic motors on each side of the vehicle. Each of these circuits is operable in either a series connected mode or a parallel connected mode.
La présente invention concerne un véhicule tout terrain à direction différentielle à faible impact de surface qui comporte un châssis rectangulaire sur les côtés opposés duquel des ensembles de bras de commande indépendamment mobiles, montés en tandem sont mis en suspension. Un axe de roue entraîné par un moteur hydraulique est monté sur l'extrémité inférieure de chaque bras de commande avec au moins une roue pneumatique montée sur chaque axe. Des ressorts compressibles sont situés entre le châssis et chaque bras de commande de façon à solliciter les bras de commande et les roues portées à partir de ceux-ci vers le bas vers une position dans laquelle des plaques de frottement montées sur les bras de commande entrent en contact et limitent le mouvement de chaque ensemble de bras de commande l'un vers l'autre. Des circuits de commande hydraulique distincts ayant des pompes d'entraînement séparées entraînent les moteurs hydrauliques sur chaque côté du véhicule. Chacun de ces circuits peut fonctionner soit dans un mode connecté en série, soit dans un mode connecté en parallèle.
