The present invention is to offer a material for wastewater treatment and a method for wastewater treatment which does not produce odor, costs low and can remarkably decrease highly concentrated organic wastes stably and effectively. Furthermore, the present invention is to offer a way how can utilize a waste medium of mushroom. Said material for wastewater treatment consists of Streptomyces dominantly proliferated on a high porous inorganic carrier and/or organic carrier like a waste medium of mushroom. Said material for wastewater treatment is added to a wastewater like hog feces and urine and aeration is carried out. Then wastewater treatment is achieved by filtration.
