A materials handling vehicle (10) is provided comprising: a frame (20); wheels supported on the frame; a traction motor coupled to one of the wheels to effect rotation of the one wheel (74); a speed control element (96 a,b) operable by an operator to define a speed control signal corresponding to a desired speed of the traction motor (72),- a system as-sociated with a steerable wheel to effect angular movement of the steer-able wheel; and control apparatus coupled to the speed control element to receive the speed control signal, and coupled to the traction motor to gen-erate a drive signal to the traction motor in response to the speed control signal to control the operation of the traction motor. The control apparatus may determine an acceleration value for the traction motor based on at least one of an angular position of the steerable wheel, a speed of the trac-tion motor and a current position of the speed control element as defined by the speed control signal.
La présente invention se rapporte à un véhicule de manutention (10) comprenant : un cadre (20) ; des roues soutenues sur le cadre ; un moteur de traction accouplé à lune des roues pour effectuer la rotation de ladite roue (74) ; un organe de commande de vitesse (96 a,b) utilisable par un opérateur pour définir un signal de commande de vitesse correspondant à une vitesse souhaitée du moteur de traction (72),- un système associé à une roue orientable pour effectuer un déplacement angulaire de la roue orientable ; et un appareil de commande accouplé à lorgane de commande de vitesse pour recevoir le signal de commande de vitesse, et accouplé au moteur de traction pour générer un signal dentraînement vers le moteur de traction en réponse au signal de commande de vitesse afin de commander le fonctionnement du moteur de traction. Lappareil de commande peut déterminer une valeur daccélération pour le moteur de traction sur la base dau moins un élément parmi une position angulaire de la roue orientable, une vitesse du moteur de traction et une position actuelle de lorgane de commande de vitesse comme le définit le signal de commande vitesse.
