A message arrangement and method for interfacing a digital telephone system including a Digital Facility Line Card (DFLC) that connects a user operated Digital Telephone Instrument (DTI) to a stored program operated digital Central Office (CO) system. The message arrangement comprises, a DFLC message processor that generates and transmits to the DTI control messages in response to report messages transmitted by the DTI, following a user activated DTI event. The control messages provide the user with visual and aural DTI operating information. The DFLC message processor further generates and transmits to a CO system central controller, device report messages requesting access to, and network services from the CO system, responsive to call processing report messages from the DTI. The CO system central controller sends device control messages to the DFLC which operates in accordance with the received device control messages to generate and transmit to the DTI, DTI control messages. The DTI control messages instruct the DTI to provide the user with operating information and to collect call processing data from the DTI, for transmission to the DFLC message processor. The DFLC message processor translates the call processing data and generates device report messages, which are transmitted to the CO system.
L'invention est constituée par un dispositif et une méthode de messagerie servant à interfacer un système téléphonique numérique comprenant une carte de ligne d'installation numérique (« DLFC ») qui connecte un appareil téléphonique numérique (« DTI ») utilisé par l'abonné à un central numérique commandé par un programme stocké. Le dispositif de messagerie de l'invention comprend un processeur à messages DFLC qui produit et transmet des messages de commande au DTI en réponse aux messages de rapport transmis par celui-ci après un événement DTI causé par l'abonné. Ces messages de commande fournissent à l'abonné des informations visuelles et audibles sur l'utilisation du DTI. Le processeur à messages DLFC produit de plus des messages de rapport demandant l'accès au service du réseau qu'il transmet au contrôleur central et répond aux messages de rapport de traitement des appels provenant du DTI. Le contrôleur central transmet des messages de commande de dispositif au DFLC, lequel réagit aux messages de commande de dispositif reçus pour produire des messages de commande de DTI qu'il transmet au DTI. Ces messages commandent au DTI de fournir des informations d'utilisation à l'abonné et de recueillir les données de traitement des appels pour les transmettre au processeur à messages du DLFC. Celui-ci traduit les données de traitement des appels et produit des messages de rapport sur les dispositifs qui sont transmis au central.
