The invention relates to a method and a device of detecting the presence of slag in a shroud (4) through which molten metal passes from a ladle (2) to a tundish (6). An induced voltage generated at a receiving coil (24) is compared with a defined voltage range. If the induced voltage has a value outside the defined voltage range it is indicative of the presence of slag. The voltage range is defined in dependence of the flow of molten metal passing through the shroud. The invention also relates to a casting plant.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif permettant de détecter la présence de scorie dans un tube de projection de jet (4) dans lequel passe du métal en fusion depuis une poche de coulée (2) jusqu'à un panier de coulée (6). Une tension induite générée au niveau d'une bobine de réception (24) est comparée avec une plage de tension définie. La présence de scorie est indiquée si la tension induite présente une valeur ne se trouvant pas dans la plage de tension définie. La plage de tension est définie en fonction de l'écoulement du métal en fusion passant dans le tube de projection de jet. L'invention concerne également une usine de coulage.
