A method and apparatus for adding a member to an active call in a group communication network provides for receiving a member list from a user and sending a request to a server to add the member list to the active group call. The method and apparatus further provides for announcing each member in the member list that they are being added to the group call, receiving acknowledgement from a member who wishes to participate in the group call, and forwarding media to the member. The method and apparatus also provides for a significant reduction in the actual total dormancy wakeup time and latency by exchanging group call signaling even when mobiles are dormant and no traffic channel is active.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil permettant d'ajouter un membre à un appel de groupe dans un réseau de communication de groupe mettant en oeuvre la réception d'une liste de membres provenant d'un utilisateur et l'envoi d'une requête à un serveur afin d'ajouter la liste de membres à l'appel de groupe en cours. Le procédé et l'appareil permettent aussi d'annoncer à chaque membre de la liste qu'il est ajouté à l'appel de groupe, de recevoir l'accusé de réception d'un membre qui souhaite participer à l'appel de groupe, et d'acheminer le contenu à ce membre. Le procédé et l'appareil permettent aussi de réduire de façon importante le temps et la latence réveil-dormance totaux réels par échange de signalisation d'appel de groupe même lorsque des mobiles sont en sommeil et qu'aucun canal de trafic n'est actif.
