A method and apparatus for providing an active standby control system comprising the steps of providing a first and second controller, each controller having an operating state. Each controller is operably connected to a network. Assigning a network identifier, i.e., Internet Protocol, Media Access Control address, etc., to each controller and sensing the operating state of each controller. The network identifier of each controller is determined by the operating state of each respective controller.
La présente invention concerne un procédé et un appareil permettant d'assurer un système de commande auxiliaire actif, ledit procédé comprenant les étapes consistant à obtenir une première et une deuxième unité de commande, chaque unité de commande possédant un état d'exécution et étant connectée de façon opérationnelle à un réseau, à assigner un identificateur de réseau, c'est-à-dire, une adresse de protocole Internet, une adresse de méthode d'accès aux supports, etc., à chaque unité de commande et à détecter l'état d'exécution de chaque unité de commande. L'identificateur de réseau de chaque unité de commande est déterminé par l'intermédiaire de l'état d'exécution de chaque unité de commande respective.
