A method and apparatus for assigning access control levels when providing access to networked content files includes a client node (102) , a collection agent (104) , and a policy engine (106) . The client node requests access to a resource. The collection agent gathers information about the client node. The policy engine receives the gathered information and assigns one of a plurality of levels of access responsive to application of a policy to the received information. An application server farm (114) may present contents of the resource to the client node using an application program associated with a file type of the requested file. A transformation server (516) may transform the contents of the resource from a native format to a second format and present the transformed contents of the resource to the client node.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un système d'affectation de niveaux de contrôle d'accès lors de la fourniture d'un accès à des fichiers de contenu mis en réseau. Le système comprend un noeud client, un agent de collecte et un moteur de politiques. Le noeud client demande à accéder à une ressource. L'agent de collecte recueille des informations concernant le noeud client. Le moteur de politiques reçoit les informations recueillies et affecte un parmi plusieurs niveaux d'accès en réponse à l'application d'une politique fondée sur les informations reçues. Un parc de serveurs d'applications peut présenter des contenus de la ressource au noeud client au moyen d'un programme d'application associé à un type de fichier du fichier demandé. Un serveur de transformation peut transformer les contenus de la ressource d'un format natif à un second format et présenter les contenus transformés de la ressource au noeud client.
