An apparatus and method for opening a vial lid with respect to its respective container include the lid (92) having a tamper evident tape applied over a top surface of the lid with the ends of the tape being adhered against the outer side walls of the vial container below a juncture of the lid and the container outer wall. The tape has a score on each side in the area adjacent to the juncture. The apparatus includes a device (34) for opening the lid by lifting the lid with respect to the container by a sufficient elevation to ensure that the tape score is substantially completely separated. A second device (150) places a downwardly depending flange of the lid in an overlapped position with respect to an upper end wall of the container after the lid has been opened.
L'invention concerne un appareil et un procédé servant à ouvrir un couvercle de flacon par rapport à son conteneur respectif. Le couvercle (92) comporte une bande d'inviolabilité appliquée sur une surface supérieure du couvercle, les extrémités de la bande étant collées contre les parois latérales extérieures du flacon conteneur au-dessous d'une limite constituée par le couvercle et la paroi extérieure du conteneur. La bande présente une entaille de chaque côté, située dans la zone adjacente à la limite. L'appareil comporte un dispositif (34) servant à ouvrir le couvercle par soulèvement de celui-ci du conteneur sur une hauteur suffisante pour assurer que l'entaille de bande est sensiblement complètement séparée. Un deuxième dispositif (150) sert à placer un bord inférieur du couvercle dans une position chevauchante par rapport à une paroi d'extrémité supérieure du conteneur après que le couvercle a été ouvert.
