In a method and apparatus for controlling registration activity, transmission of a registration message from a node (100) is disabled upon a determination that an identity token in not present within a predetermined area of a memory (130). In an alternative implementation, registration activity is initiated by node (100) upon committing provisioning information, which task may include storing an identity token into predetermined area (130).
