A system provides transmit diversity with feedback to enhance the reception of communication signals at a wireless communication terminal. Multiple antennae are provided at the base station. The multiple antennae transmit multi-carrier information signals such as OFDM including pilot tones. The wireless communication terminal receives the pilot tones and performs processing on those tones to detect the relationship between the information signals transmitted from the various antennae of the base station. A feedback signal, based on the comparison of the pilot tones communicates back to the base station information about the channels of the respective transmit antennae to the terminals. The base station modifies the transmission processing associated with the various transmit antennae based upon the feedback signal. The modified processing improves the reception of the information signals at the wireless communication terminal.
Système permettant une diversité d'émission avec rétroaction, en vue d'améliorer la réception de signaux de communication à un terminal de transmission sans fil. Des antennes multiples sont fournies à la station de base. Ces antennes transmettent des signaux porteurs d'information à porteuse multiple comme les OFDM comprenant des fréquences pilotes. Le terminal de transmission sans fil reçoit les fréquences pilotes et procède au traitement de ces fréquences afin de vérifier la relation entre les signaux porteurs d'information transmis par les diverses antennes à la station de base. Un signal de rétroaction, basé sur la comparaison des fréquences pilotes, communique en retour à la station de base de l'information sur les canaux des antennes d'émission respectives aux terminaux. La station de base modifie le traitement d'émission associé aux diverses antennes d'émission en fonction du signal de rétroaction. La modification du traitement permet d'améliorer la réception des signaux d'information au terminal de transmission sans fil.
